Sequined blazer for day? Let’s give it a shot.

If you’d thought you’d seen the last of that sequined suit from New Year’s Eve, think again. I thought the sequined blazer it would be a cool focal point for an attempt at wearing sequins for day– and I think I pulled it off! Faded, slouchy 501s provided some killer contrast, a black turtleneck layered nicely, and sassy black booties were the right finishing touch to balance the outfit.

I added a super vampy lip in the form of this deep-plum-almost-dark-brown matte liquid lipstick from Too Faced, which is a definitive change up from my usual cool mauve situation. It added some serious 90s vibes to the look– yes, ma’am! All the 90s things, please!

I really love these jeans– they are comfortable and have a super cool retro vibe– but I find I like ’em best when I pair them with a shoe that has a heel. Your girl needs some length!

The sequined blazer really is more versatile than it initially appeared when worn as part of a loud statement suit. It definitely works with more casual elements like a pair of jeans, and it could also work thrown over a little black dress or worn with the same turtleneck and a pair of skinnier dress pants.

Now I just need to sort out how to remix those striped sequin pants…
