Sale time, kids! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is back.

Early access for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts today. If you’re a Nordstrom cardholder (either Visa or debit), you get to shop the sale before the sale goes public. This is key because it means you’re more likely to score pieces before they sell out. (Remember last year? Stuff sold out, fast, and didn’t always restock.)

Here’s how the #NSale differs from the other sales going on right now: the discounts are on fall and winter pieces, not just summer stuff. (Also: home goods, shoes, athleisure, beauty goodies, and accessories!) That means you can start carving out your upcoming fall + winter wardrobe at a fraction of the retail price. Brilliant, right?

Key sale dates:

  • Early access now through July 18.
  • Public access July 19 – August 4.
  • Prices go up on August 5.

There are thousands of items in the sale, which can get really overwhelming. No worries, friends. I’ve curated all my faves, from what you can wear now to trendy pieces for fall, I have you covered. Hit the categories below and start shopping!

Instant Gratification: What You Can Wear Right Now.

If you’re not interested in buying sweaters and coats right now (I get it; it’s a million degrees outside), that doesn’t mean you’re left out of the discounted fun. There are lots of pieces that you can right now (yes, in mid-July) that will transition well into early fall.

This floral jumpsuit is so cute with flat sandals; I love this as a dress alternative for date night, a wedding, or anywhere where you want to elevate your look. A short, sassy leopard dress is another stunner on my list. You can score basic t-shirts from the sale, too. I like to grab a few in classic neutrals like white, black, and navy to refresh my collection. And who can’t use a new pair of wear-all-year-long jeans? I love these; the ankle cut is flattering and that wash is perfect.

Oh, and remember that blazer dress I wore to speak at the Media Mixer conference? Here’s a super close dupe that’s part of the sale for over half what I paid.

Prep for Fall: My Favorites.

Sweaters, blouses, and dress abound! There are quite a few cute picks in the fall-friendly category this year. I love adding a few pieces to my fall closet so I have some new + fresh things to pull out when the weather cools off.

I love this dark floral pleated dress– look at that high collar! This oversized tunic sweater comes in a ton of colors and would be perfect worn as a sweater dress with tall boots, or over leggings/skinny jeans.

A pair of plaid trousers are a nice addition to any fall wardrobe; wear ’em to work and then match with sky-high stilettos and a slinky cami for date night. I’ve also got my eye on this lumberjack plaid button-up and this basic-but-super-chic black jumpsuit. Just throw on a leather jacket and go!

Outerwear Love: Jackets and Coats.

I’m a sucker for outerwear, always and forever. Here are the best of the best, from leather to long, from blazer to trench. Psst: you can totally take those blazers and wear it at the office now (duh) but also thrown over a white t-shirt and cutoff shorts. That is one of my go-to summer looks.

First of all, if you loved that bold plaid Zara coat I wore last year and missed out on snagging it for yourself, this jacket is almost identical. Get it! Let’s be coat twins! I always check out the leather jacket section, too; I have this exact jacket and love it. (See it here.) I also have a version of this classic black moto and wear it constantly in the cooler months.

I also love a blazer, and this year I’ve got my eye on this schoolgirl tweed, this bright yellow, and this gray plaid (to match these plaid trousers). A girl can’t have too many blazers, in my opinion. The sale is heavy on trench coats this year; I loved this coated plaid raincoat trench the most.

Get Comfy: Athleisure and Loungewear.

Another (technically) wear-right-now category, but it’s big enough to warrant it’s own section: athleisure/activewear/loungewear. If I’m not at work, shooting for the blog, or out at an event, you can find me in leggings and a workout tank. My off-duty uniform! Bonus: most of these pieces also work in the gym.

Anything from Barefoot Dreams is the softest thing you’ll ever wear (I have a robe from them and it’s literal heaven), so this cardigan is on my radar. This fleece always sells out; snag it before it does and the price goes up. I’m going to grab these bike shorts because when Spanx does something, I pay attention. I’m seriously considering these Ugg slippers because they’re on super sale. We got my mom a pair for her birthday last year and she loves ’em!

All the Shoes.

Shoes are another category that gets me in trouble during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. There are so many in all the categories, how can a girl choose?

Getting a new pair of sneakers is a good call; I love these and these. These pale pink Converse slip-ons would be killer for end-of-summer ‘fits, too.  Oh! And those blush mules I’m always wearing were a previous sale purchase; get this year’s version here.

The boot and bootie section is normally bananas. Stock UP! I love these thigh high numbers and these classic suede nude booties. Don’t forget about the snakeskin! Several pairs showed up on my radar, like these neutral-mauve ones and these bright red ones.

Accessories + Beauty Goodies.

Coin necklaces are still all the rage, and I’ve got my eye on this one. I am loving the stripe on this backpack purse, and I love a good, functional tote like this one. If you need a killer fall hat, put this one on your list.

Don’t sleep on the beauty section– you can get some serious deals. I always re-up on this self-tanner. The bottle is huge and I love the express formula.

Leopard + Snakeskin.

I really love the idea of a leopard camisole, and this one will work now and later. Pretty sure I’m going to need these snakeskin flats, too– how cool would they be with a pair of cropped trousers and a lightweight sweater come October? I think adding a snakeskin belt to the mix (like I did here) is such a cool move. And a leopard dress! We all need a leopard dress. Also know that you don’t have to go bold to do animal print: this sweatshirt is super subtle.
