These lace-up leggings are a fun twist on athleisure.
I can’t resist a good legging these days, and these lace-up leggings are no exception. Not exactly gym-worthy (they’re a cotton legging vs. a spandex legging), but definitely perfect for building a laid-back athleisure look around. I pulled on this super soft work shirt from Express (old, but still in stock in a few sizes!) because it was long enough to give a tunic vibe. (I only wear leggings-as-pants when they are 250% opaque, even when bending over– that’s the test!) Neutral bookends: my all-time favorite suede jacket from BlankNYC and a pair of beige and gray Nike’s.

What I was going for with this look: an athleisure-rooted outfit that could go just about anywhere casual. I wanted to balance the sex appeal of the front lace-up with sneakers and a blousy top (although you could up the sexiness by grabbing an oversized off-the-shoulder sweater and pumps). I wanted to keep the color palette neutral and focus instead on the texture play (suede, laces, twill). Check x3.
While we’re talking suede– have I told you lately to buy this jacket? Seriously, spend the money– you will not regret it. It goes with everything in your wardrobe: I love it with leggings (obviously), jeans (so easy + chic), dresses (adds some warmth to spring-y numbers), and as part of edgier office outfits (so good with classic cigarette trousers). I’ve had mine for well over a year and reach for it all the time. Psst, it’s also on sale in a few colors here if this coffee bean color isn’t your jam. Just over $100 for real suede in a timeless cut? Yes, please!
