A Dreamy Valentine’s Sweater + Levi’s 501s.

A super chunky sweater for Valentine’s Day.

Blush pink is still my jam–me and every other girl on the planet, so I’m in pretty good company– so I don’t really need Valentine’s Day as an excuse to break it out. But after shooting this look, I realized it was a perfect VDay outfit: look at those pompom hearts! I love how chunky + oversized the sweater is; perfect for throwing on with jeans or leggings. I chose the former– 90s-style, mom-waisted, straight-legged Levi’s 501s– with a pair of blush mules to lengthen that leg line.

I decided to give the sweater a little half-tuck into the jeans to help add some structure to the outfit. The combo of a baggier jean with a slouchy sweater can be a little overwhelming on my body, so adding a shoe with a heel and defining the waist a bit is key.

I actually did a super similar version of this outfit last year for Valentine’s, funny that. The Levi’s, the blush sweater, it’s all there. A little more 80s last year, while this is quite 90s, but the bones are the same.

Are you guys already planning for Valentine’s Day? Normally, it’s a really fun sushi-dinner-action-movie date night for me and Dave, but this year he’ll still be in Africa. (He’s visiting his sister, who’s in the Peace Corps in Ethiopia, and together they’re going to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in addition to visiting the village she’s stationed in.) I’ll probably order in Chinese, pop on some Netflix, and pour myself a big glass of wine! (Aka, a typical Thursday, ha.)

    1. I sized up- there is ZERO stretch to these bad boys and I feel like this particular cut runs a bit on the small side. That being said, they do “break in” because they’re traditional denim, so now I really love ’em!

    1. I love how the slouchy nature and pairing it with tougher denim sort of rails against the girliness, though- right? Definitely so many ways to wear this piece!
