Neon Green Sweater and Plaid Platforms.

Hinting at early spring and flirting with St. Patrick’s Day in this neon green sweater.

Neons are back, have you heard? Neon was all over the spring and summer runways, so I decided to trot it out in the form of this oversized neon green sweater. (It was a Zara sale find, but you can score a similar version here and here.) I grabbed an old pair of boyfriend jeans and used my sweater tuck hack to keep the lines clean. When I say these jeans are old, I’m talking old: last seen here.

How to do my sweater tuck hack: take the bottom of your sweater, fold it under, and tuck it into the band of your bra. (This works really well if you’re wearing a snug sports-bra style bra, but any bra will do.) This creates the look of a tucked-in sweater without adding any sweater bulk to the waistband of your jeans or trousers.

It was a warm day for February, so I pulled out this pair of mega-platforms I snagged in the fall at Shein. (They’re sold out now, which is so annoying, but you can get the same vibe here, here, and here.) How fun and Y2k are they?! The perfect way to preview spring fashion during some early spring-like weather. Plus they make me 6′ tall, which is absolutely amazing and totally worth risking my life.

Wouldn’t this make a really sassy St. Patrick’s Day outfit? Weather permitting, of course. If it was super cold, you could easily swap out the platforms for an ankle boot or a combat boot. I love the neon green sweater– it’s so bright and happy, and reminds me of Kermit the Frog. Your friends definitely wouldn’t lose you in a St. Patty’s crowd wearing this, that’s for sure!

Speaking of St. Patrick’s Day, Dave and I are spending it in Ireland with a few friends. We’re starting in Dublin and celebrating St. Patty’s there. Then we’ll drive south, stopping in the little coastal towns along the way, eating and drinking our way through Ireland. It’s going to be so much fun! We haven’t traveled abroad since Greece in 2017, so we’re definitely overdue for a little trans-Atlantic adventure.

  1. Spring green, nice outfit that suits perfectly to you, but those funny generous hills, hehe I advice you not to walk with them on the prairies of Ireland.

  2. A very cool look Ashley! And how exciting you’ll be going to Ireland next month! As for me, I’ll be leading a Ceili dance. Have you ever been to one? You won’t be able to dance in those shoes! LOL

  3. Lucky you to be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland!!! I hope you’ll do a post about it! And, these shoes…wow!!! I would walk right out of them as my doggone toes have no gripping power! But, dang, are they cute! You, though, steal the show each and every time, Ashley! Just so gorgeous! Please come visit Friday for a link party!

  4. Oh Ashley! You always crack me up…especially the line about your high platforms and how they are “…totally worth risking my life.” I was LOL’ing cuz I could absolutely relate! I love this outfit! The neon green screams St. Patty’s Day fun and those platforms are fabulous! 🙂 Hope you, Dave, and company had a blast in Ireland. That’s on my bucket list!
