Baby Blue Tweed Blazer and Beige Culottes for the Spring Issue of KC Homes & Style.

Spring-ready in this gorgeous baby blue tweed blazer.

Even though the weather hasn’t fully turned in KC, I’m definitely ready for some spring style. So ready or not, I’m breaking out the spring hues with this baby blue tweed blazer. It’s so pretty, I had to make it the centerpiece of the outfit for the March/April issue of KC Homes & Style.

A pair of beige culotte jeans and a cream tee provide the outfit’s base. These pieces feel winter white in December, but Easter ivory when worn in March. To end cap the look, I wanted a statement shoe. These velvet Western-style boots were perfect: a contrasting snakeskin flame detail and gold toe add some jazz, but everything in the neutral fam means they don’t distract from that blue tweed blazer.

This look is so fun! It feels a little 80s in a soap-oper-Dallas kinda way. (Those shoulder pads!) But somehow it also feels very fresh– perhaps because style today incorporates so many retro trends, all at once.

Congrats to the Homes & Style team on another great issue! And I’ll see you all on the other side of my Ireland trip– and happy early St. Patrick’s Day!
