The space boots are back! Now with a pair of 90s trousers.
♫I just wanna go back, back to 1999… ♫ This has been my song and dance as of late, especially when it comes to a pair of vintage 90s trousers. High-waist, boxy cut, tapered leg, ankle hem. Hello, retro! I snagged these from Kindred Shops and wanted to give ’em a Spice Girls twist, so those space boots from a few seasons back (but still available and under $60!) and a black crop top combined for some girl power.
We shot just before the sun set on an unseasonably warm day in February, and I was feeling that golden hour vibe. It helped this pale skin look more alive, if nothing else. Kansas City feels like it’s been under almost constant cloud cover since before the holidays and at this point I’m ready to sell off an organ or two for some sunshine.

So my love affair with 90s trousers rolls on. I dig wearing these to the office with pumps and sweater (very similar to how I styled a similar pair here), but you can certainly add some funky elements like I’ve done above and take these trousers out on the town. When the weather warms up (for good), I plan on wearing with just a lacy bralette, sneakers, and maybe a jean jacket over the top. A little more versatile than they originally seemed, right?
