How are your layering skills? Fall is a good time to get some practice runs in, before winter takes hold and we’re all bundled up three sweaters deep. Use this transitional period to figure out how to mix pieces that keep you warm without overdosing on the bulk.
When East & Lo sent this super cute lightweight hoodie, I knew it would be perfect for autumn-level layering. The top can be worn alone– think with black leggings and ballet flats, maybe a scarf wrapped around for good measure– but I had plans to put it under a military-style vest. I love the subtle stripe, and the floaty nature worked well against the more structured vest.
Rounding out the cool + casual weekend look: a simple pair of stretchy skinnies and leopard slip-on sneakers (on sale right now, guys!), plus a long pendant and a glossy berry lip.

Have you checked out East & Lo? Online boutique shopping at a reasonable price– right now they’re stocked with knit joggers, cozy sweaters, and denim under $100. Great place to stock up on easy basics that will carry you through colder seaons.

And now for an announcement…
Coming in December: The Blogger Collective.
Are you looking for a space where bloggers share ideas, get advice, make connections, and collaborate? Are you looking for how-to’s on skills we’re all trying to master– social media, networking, and creating solid content?
Let me introduce you to a little idea I’ve been hatching with my pal Nikki from The Fashionable Wife. It’s a blogger group with a mission: to bring together like-minded bloggers who seek to connect with and support each other. We want good people, no snark, no nonsense.
The Blogger Collective aims to create a community that promotes sharing and growth, as well as developing relationships and encouraging collaboration. We want to bring together bloggers from all backgrounds and from all corners of the country to share tips of the blogging trade, team up, and learn from each other.
Linking up with Style Elixir, Walking in Memphis in High Heels, I Do DeClaire, Induffinitely Me, Sew Crafty Angel, Get Your Pretty On, Because Shanna Said So, Design Life Diaries + Posh Pair, The Mummy Chronicles, and The Pleated Poppy.
