Wearing a Green Power Suit for Spring and Summer.

A bright green power suit leverages a vest as a top for a warm-weather vibe.

As much as I love a neutral moment, there’s something about dressing head-to-toe in a bright color. And brights just feel like the right move as we move into warmer weather. A Kelly green vest and trousers pair perfectly with all the green outside as nature comes back to life, and these pieces combine for a serious power suit situation.

After scoring this suit at Mango (in Dublin on St. Patrick’s Day weekend, how appropriate), I had to bust it out for the May issue of KC Homes & Style. I love the edgy combination of the bright color with the classic silhouette, plus a monochromatic outfit is such a cool style move.

I wanted to keep the rest of the look simple: a topknot, a chic crossbody bag, neutral pumps, and classic aviators. Letting this green power suit shine!

This suit is a super chic outfit for your office commute all spring and summer long. (Toss a baby tee underneath if you have an “absolutely no bare arms” HR dress code.) A little unexpected, a little loud– right up my alley, honestly, and definitely shakes up the usual 9-5 uniform.

I plan on breaking this suit up and remixing it as the spring wears on. I’ll start by pairing the vest with a pair of denim shorts and sneakers. Then I’ll take a crisp white t-shirt and tuck it into the green trousers with a pair of strappy sandals. Maybe add a bold necklace in a contrasting color for kicks. If I’m remixing for the office, I’ll try mixing hues and wearing the green vest with a navy blazer. Don’t feel painted into a bright corner by coordinating sets and suits! You really do have options.
