Outfit Idea: Striped Chenille Sweater + Black Everything. | Ash from LSR

Striped Chenille Cardigan with en.sem.ble + Kindred Shops.

A striped chenille cardigan is just what January ordered.

Welcome to 2019! Hope everyone had a lovely holiday. I’m charging into a brand new year in a brand new sweater with my pals at Kindred Shops. This striped chenille cardigan is by en.sem.ble and strikes the perfect balance between super snuggly and stylish, which is pretty much my favorite combo for frigid January weather. I love the stripes and that pretty camel color against the black!

I kept the bones of the look simple: a black sweater and black denim. I’ve also been breaking in these Madewell booties lately; they’re just as comfortable as they are cute.

So how did everyone spend their holiday? As you might’ve heard, we spent ours moving + settling into our new house.  It was quite the grind, but we managed to get all unpacked in time for my birthday on New Year’s Eve so we could host a few close pals to ring in 2019. We have just a few lingering projects to tackle (mainly the guest room and procuring new furniture for the family room in the basement), but I’ll be damned if I don’t feel right at home in my our new place! It’s amazing to be (mostly) settled right in time for the new year.

  1. The cardigan is handsome, comfortable and warm and makes us want to wear it. It looks great with the sweater, the denim and the boots. You look beautiful!

  2. Nice piece. Glad you’re settling in. As I said before, it’s a lot of work! But you’ll enjoy the fruits of that labor for many, many years. Happy New Year.

    1. It really was SO much work- and there’s still a few things to be done, but we’re through the hardest part of it, thank goodness! 🙂

  3. I absolutely love the look of black and camel paired together, the contrast is absolutely beautiful, so I’m really loving this whole look. Especially that cardigan, which looks super cozy, I love that it’s oversized! I hope you have a wonderful start to the new year, beauty!

  4. Well, Happy Birthday New Year, to you!

That cardigan is fantastic! Those colors are calling my name…can’t you just hear them??

And THOSE ARE MY DREAM BOOTIES. The color, the shape, everything. Please LOVE THEM MADLY as I would…if I could. But I can’t wear a bootie that goes up that high on my “generous” (trying to be more positive!) calves/ankles OR that high a heel. But they are JUST so gorgeous. Please wear them Every Single Day so I can enjoy them vicariously through you.

Really digging your straight hair look – such a change!

Have I missed a full new home tour or is that still ahead??

    1. Hi lady! I will definitely wear these boots to death just for youuuuu! I love them, too- the color and style is perfect, right?

And no, you haven’t missed a full house tour- I’m sharing more over on Insta, but haven’t pieced anything together for the blog just yet.

      Happy 2019!

  5. That is one gorgeous sweater, Ashley! I love the stripes and it looks so cozy, perfect for these Kansas City winter days. I hope your year is off to a wonderful start and that we run into each other again soon!
