As spring inches closer, I’m investigating the trends I want to try. While the moto jacket has been a closet staple for decades, it’s at the forefront of fashion this season. Oversized is a fresh way to wear this classic, so I snagged this one from Missguided as a change of pace from my fitted versions.
I’m carrying that bad boy biker vibe right on through the outfit with a pair of platform Doc boots. These white Jadon 8-eye combat boots are loud, give me a solid 3 inches in height, and hint at a warmer season while being tough enough for any spring snowstorms that may be in Kansas City’s future. And the nostalgia! I’m honestly kicking myself for getting rid of the Docs I had in middle school– I was sitting on a future fashion gold mine!
Speaking of gold, I balanced all the toughness of this look with a sunshine yellow crossbody bag from Teddy Blake. The color! The size! Perfect for slinging over a sundress come May, but right now I’m using it to brighten up winter-to-spring looks like this denim-and-leather ‘fit.

Seriously, how cute is this bag? I love the ladylike element it adds to this outfit; I’ve been carrying it nonstop since it arrived a few weeks ago. What a perfect bag for spring! The quality of the leather is ace– this bag is for sure going to stand the test of time– and the gold hardware is right up my alley. The top handle and strap are a great one-two punch for custom carrying and the little feet on the bottom of the bag ensure it’s safe wherever you set it down. I’m in love!

This is something I love about Teddy Blake– you can absolutely find the perfect bag for you in whatever color and size you’re on the hunt for! Such a great investment piece just in time for spring.

Fellow 30-somethings, adults in general: should we just give up? But before you freak out– I don’t mean “give up” quite the way it sounds.
In this episode, I argue we should give up trying to control being perceived as “young” or “cool.” We should stop getting upset when some random think piece of Gen Z vs. Millenials goes viral, or when something we love is relegated as outdated. Not only does none of that stuff really matter, but it’s the way things are supposed to go.
The younger generation is supposed to surpass the one before it, especially in terms of coolness and relevance. It doesn’t mean our value is any less. (Also let the record show it doesn’t make uncool or irrelevant.) But there’s this beauty in letting go and just enjoying the ride (as hard as that is for your girl, the Type-A Capricorn control freak) as we move into a new phase of life.

I have just recently decided that I need more yellow in my life (because, isn’t that the type of random declaration everyone makes?!?). That bag is gorgeous, but not in the budget. I am not looking for an investment piece this go-around, but if I were that would be at the top of my list.
