A fall floral dress styled for late winter.

Are you tired of winter yet? Same. After a 2-week deep freeze, I’m feeling especially over it. I’m also over my wardrobe right now– which is really silly, since a) I never wear “real” clothes unless I’m shooting for the blog and b) I have more than enough clothes. To shake things up, I’m attempting to grab some old(er) pieces and wear them together in a different way. Case in point: this olive green wool vest and a fall floral dress.

You last saw this wool vest (or sleeveless trench) over 2 years ago as part of an edgy denim outfit. These boots are even older– from 2016! This dress is a few years old but has never made a blog appearance. It used to be one of my go-to fall work dresses since it was long enough to pass HR’s dress code. You know, back when I used to go to an office. And actually get dressed during the week. 😉

I really like this outfit as an alternative to jeans and a sweater (which feels so overplayed here in early March). The wool vest is long and hefty, so it does provide quite a bit of warmth. The thigh-high boots are fashionable, sure, but their real perk is that they keep your legs nice and toasty against any late-winter chills.

And don’t get me started on my love affair with olive green. It’s well-documented around here. It’s just such a good neutral! Softer than black and navy, bolder than tan and white– you really can’t go wrong.

  1. One of my favorite looks on you, Ashley! You look amazing and so chic!!! The olive green wool vest really works with the floral dress. And those boots! 🙂 I’m with you, girl! I rarely get dressed up except for photo shooting. Lol! I totally related to that comment. Haha!
