Midi Skirt + Zara Pumps.

I was a little hesitant to try the midi skirt at first– I’m only 5’5, which means this girl accepts sometimes she’s not tall enough to pull off every trend.

But you never know until you try, so I found this ASOS skirt and pulled the trigger. Great weight– it has a bit of heft to it, which will keep the skirt from blowing up over my head on blustery Kansas City afternoons. It also has a lovely twirl-factor and pockets. Instant fan, right here. Trying it on allowed me to immediately determine I wasn’t a midi-skirt-and-flats kind of girl. Being 5’5 strikes again. Pumps it is!

Tucked a simple white v-neck into the skirt, cinched it with a mint-colored patent belt, and broke in my new bright coral Zara pumps.

  1. Wow, you look gorgeous! I would probably have to wear it with pumps only, too- I’m only 5 foot 2!

  2. I’m seriously obsessed with this outfit! I LOVE midi skirts but I’m SO short I just don’t think I can pull it off. Even with heels 🙁 You totally are rocking it though, I’m loving those red pumps with it!

  3. OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS SKIRT!

You look so pretty- especially with the high pony! It’s retro, but not. Somehow. You know what I mean. 😉

  4. I love this trend! I have a few mid skirts in my closet and I wear them all the time! So pretty and girly- which I love.

  5. You are NOT SHORT! Haha- I’m 5’1!
I have been avoiding the midi skirt for the same reason- I worry it’s going to make my legs look completely sawed off, LOL. But maybe with a good pair of platform pumps, I’d be okay?

    Great post!

  6. You look so cute, Ashley! I hope you have a great time at Go Blog! I’ve heard it’s a cool conference. You’re lucky it’s in your hometown! 🙂

  7. I love how you styled the midi skirt. I’m a big fan of it too but it’s hard when you’re 5’3! The pumps are the perfect add on! xo

  8. I’ve been obsessed with midi skirts and I love this one! Especially with the red heels! Beautiful!!
