KCFW Thursday Night: Wide-leg Snakeskin Trousers.

Shiny snakeskin trousers are exactly what I needed for KCFW.

I like to bring the drama when it comes to Kansas City Fashion Week. I shared my outfit for the kickoff party last week and now it’s time to let these wide-leg snakeskin trousers have their moment in the sun. Hello there, crazy pants! I had to have ’em, knowing they’d fit in with the fun KCFW fashion crowd. I added a pair of super tall platform sandals (because I’m wee and that really balances a wide leg) and a basic black bodysuit (still available at ASOS, btw).

I wanted to build on the over-the-top nature of the trousers, so I put on an actual ton of gold jewelry. Big statement belt, killer hoops (I got so many compliments on these Uncommon James hoops), a few layered necklaces, and a massive chain link bracelet. A classic (faux) leather moto jacket over the shoulders and a Louis Vuitton bag I pulled out of my archives and your girl was ready. The result was Scary Spice meets New Jersey housewife, and I couldn’t have been happier.

Kansas City Fashion Week: Thursday Night Runway Shows.

Thursday night at Union Station was such a treat! Here are my faves.

Travis Cal Styles showed a super fun collection this season, complete with a few eyebrow-raising-in-a-good-way pieces. I could pretty much shop this collection for my annual birthday outfit, which you normally includes some sort of shimmer + shine. The collection was cohesive, fully finished, and so damn good.

Clockwise l-r: a MEGA sequined jumpsuit had everyone snapping with their phones; the best sparkly sweat suit ever; and a stunning glittering gown.

I also adored House of Pamela Renee. Jaw-dropper after jaw-dropper! It was a clinic in silver and gold. Pretty sure I need that stunning high-neck gold sequin gown and those bedazzled cut-out trousers. (Now how to make work-approrpriate…?)

House of Pamela Renee sent some aggressive white ruffles and liquid gold perfection stomping down the runway.

Clockwise l-r: a gold on gold stunner of a gown; Actual Prince Charming; and the sickest silver trench with cropped silver trousers.

Stay tuned next week for my coverage of the Saturday night finale shows!
