KCFW Saturday Night: Rachel Roy + Combat Boots.

Taking this ladylike Rachel Roy dress for a KCFW spin.

For the final night of Kansas City Fashion Week, I was lucky to be dressed by the headlining designer, Rachel Roy. (Seriously, such a cool moment when her team reached out and offered me something to wear from her line!) I went with this super sophisticated halter dress, which was giving me fashion mag editor-in-chief vibes. It fit like a glove and didn’t need much accessorizing; however, it did need an unexpected shoe to make it fashion week-ready. Hi there, patent leather heeled combat boots!

Not only are these shoes serious statement-makers, but they’re quite sturdy and easier to wear than they look. I stomped around in ’em all night long (after party included!) and my feet were fine. I loved the edge they gave this dress!

After a quick sushi dinner (and lots of plum wine) at our fave spot, Nara, the girls and I headed to Union Station to close KCFW. First stop, the red carpet.

I really loved HER by Georgina Herrera. Her jewelry is absolutely stunning and she always sends some really amazing statement pieces down the runway.

Another favorite of mine was MASISA. The pieces were just beautiful, floaty, amazing bits of diaphanous goodness. I wanted everything! (To wear with my combat boots, of course.)

Next up was Maria Behnen, whose rainbow ruffled coat had the crowd oohing and ahhing. Maria’s attention to detail is always spot on; she’s so talented!

Rachel Roy closed the show with a beautiful + comprehensive collection. There was something for every woman, for every occasion. I was all about the grid print suit and that ruffled cheetah number.

And so went another amazing season! Thank you to the Kansas City Fashion Week team for including me as part of their media crew, and to the Rachel Roy team for dressing me for + inviting me to the Saturday shows!

  1. I loved this look when you shared it on Instagram! I think that dress is so unique and different from anything I’ve seen. I love how you paired it with a funky, unexpected shoe choice, but I feel like that dress has a ton of versatility. Can’t wait to see how you style it in the future.
