Mixing in a little green snakeskin to my animal print-based wardrobe.

If you’ve guessed that I’m completely head over heels in love with animal print, you’d be right. I’ve got jackets, boots, leggings, sweatshirts, blouses– and now I’ve got a cute green snakeskin boho dress that works for the colder months. (Well, the above-freezing colder months, that is. Not sure bare legs is smart in the middle of an arctic blast.)

This dress was a super affordable score. Under $30 for a cute go-anywhere animal print number? I’m all ears. I belted it here to give it a bit more shape and paired it with a set of (super old, almost vintage) Michael Kors boots.

These boots were one of my first designer purchases. I saw them on Jessica Simpson (back in the day when Jessica was a major It Girl; any Nick and Jessica fans here?) in a pap shot of her shopping in NYC and immediately fell in love. This was before the days when celebs tagged their brands or there were hundreds of sites dedicated to identifying celebrity outfits, so hunting down the exact brand of boot was a task.

When I finally found ’em, my jaw dropped at their $800 price tag. I scrimped and pinched until I had enough, ordered them, and then wore them literally everywhere. They were a key feature in most of my fall and winter bar outfits in the late aughts, that’s for sure.

  4. There is something amazing about snakeskin print on lightweight flowy chiffon fabrics. You look amazing! And those boots are quite fabulous still. I have a pair of Stuart Weitzman boots that I spent a month’s rent on back in 2001. I still have them but have been waiting for the square toe style to come back around before styling them once again! Such a great look! Thanks for linking up with me.

  17. Ahhh OMG I remember those days of celebs and trying to track what and who they were wearing. I spent a good part of my office job (at the time) scouring ebay for pieces (since online shopping/shipping to Australia was non existent from the USA hahaha!) Oh man, those were the days!

  19. Animal print is soooo fabulous and I love your dress, Ashley! It was a steal at that price! Those gorgeous boots really complete the look too! I’m glad you got them even though they were pricey! AND…you still rock them today! Hope 2020 is off to a great start for you!
