Green Blazer + Combat Boots Plus Some Personal News.

The fall closet transition continues with a blazer, shorts, and combat boots.

Inching toward fall without packing up all your summer clothing is the name of the game right now. I really love this time of year because it opens up your whole closet– nothing is off limits! I’m showing you one example of this today with a fall-friendly green blazer and tough combat boot with summery cutoff shorts.

Nothing in this outfit is new, either. The blazer was last seen as part of an H&M campaign I did a few years back, the shorts have been around for ages, and these boots are too iconic to ever get rid of. In-between seasons like this are the perfect time to get creative with your wardrobe and have some fun making unexpected combinations. I do love a blazer and denim short moment, but when you add in a pair of super chunky combat boots, things get really interesting.

I’m also making the case for the turtleneck black bodysuit– seriously, a must-have piece. It goes with everything, layers well, and is very on-trend. I used it as a base to let that green jacket shine, but also tie in the black sunglasses and patent in the boots. The black woven throughout keeps things cohesive.

In other (really wild) news, this week is my last week at my job. My first and only big girl job– I’ve been here for 14 years! (And was an intern before that.) But the time has come to move on and I got an offer I couldn’t refuse at another company as their director of content strategy. This is a really cool opportunity; I will be shaping the CS for the entire organization. To say I’m excited and absolutely terrified is an understatement– but big, expansive change should scare you, right? I think so. I’m sad to leave some really amazing people at my soon-to-be-old job. Not only are they sharp and talented, but several of them have become good friends. It’s going to be hard not seeing (via Zoom!) them every day.

It goes without saying, but the blog might be a little sporadic in terms of posting while I transition into the new role and sort out my new normal. Learning the organization, meeting new colleagues, figuring out how everything works (and I how I fit into that picture)– it’s all going to be very new, but very exciting.

On the personal front … WOW!!! This is BIG news! Congratulations on your new Director position! This will be a challenging job, I’m certain, but knowing you here on the blog, you will do great and bring lots of great ideas to this company! You are a born leader and I love seeing your confidence and leadership being recognized in this new endeavor! 🙂
