Gray Day.

Gray and brown may seem a bit drab on paper, but I happen to love this color combo– especially when it comes in the form of relaxed basics. I wore a version of this with a classic v-neck tee, a pair of light gray destroyed skinnies, and my new favorite ankle boots.

To keep it from being too boring, I belted the look and added a few interesting pieces of jewelry (check out that necklace; I was immediately obsessed).

This outfit is super easy to wear– who doesn’t own a few gray t-shirts? If gray jeans aren’t your thing, you can wear this with regular blue or black denim. Distressed or not distressed, the choice is yours. (I think my recent fascination with ripped jeans is pretty clear by now.) Almost any ankle bootie will do; I’m just really into the scuffed + faded ShoeMint versions I’ve been wearing lately.

Exciting week to come: Kansas City Fashion Week is here, and I’m going to Saturday night’s show– anyone else? Let me know in the comments if you are! 🙂

  1. Your hair is so long and gorgeous!
I love the way gray looks on you- you make it way less boring than I do!

  2. You look great! I love Linea Pelle belts- I just bought my first one last month (because of your blog, ha) and already bought 3 MORE! The quality of the leather is really good, and I like how the holes on the belts I got go all the way around. 🙂

Hope you’re having a good week!

  3. Gray is one of my favorite neutrals to wear! I love how you matched it with brown- the cool and warm colors look good together!

  4. I love these jeans! They look totally amazing on you, even though they’re lighter and one would think that dark gray would be a better choice. However, I’ll leave those styling issues up to YOU, because you look beautiful! 😉

  5. I like outfits like these because mixing and matching a few different pieces can create a whole new look. So cool. Great post, Ash!

  11. I think gray and brown is definitely an interesting combo and winter is the perfect time to wear it. Pretty soon spring and summer will arrive and we will be into bright colors in all sorts of shades. And I have gray jeans too – I love them!
