Let’s break out the festive outfits! With the goal of walking the line between dressy and casual, I wanted an outfit that could go just about anywhere easily for the holiday season. This green satin blouse (dupe here) was a great place to start– a vivid color, puffy sleeves, and pretty button detail.

I front-tucked the blouse into a pair of wide-leg jeans to bring in the casual. (Try these on for a similar vibe.) A chunky heeled loafer was my shoe of choice for this look; chic but not over the top.  We end up with a nice balance here: the blouse is very classic Christmas in lux fabric and statement sleeves. Matching it with denim brought things closer to casual. but a slit in one of the knees further anchored it there.

I love looks like this for the holidays– they go to the Christmas pop-up bar with your pals and make for cute-but-polished photo ops, but also work for family gatherings where you’re trimming trees and toasting with eggnog.

Interested in just a pop of color? Throw a blazer in a neutral color over the top. Want to make this look dressier? Try a pump with a pointed toe in another jewel tone. Looking to add some edge? Swap the jeans for a pair of faux leather joggers. Want a super feminine moment? A pleated velvet midi skirt will do the trick. See how far this pretty green satin blouse stretches?
