The 90’s are back– or did they ever leave? All I know is the Backstreet Boys are still touring (love!) and you can now find Birkenstocks on every department store shelf.

I was a little hesitant to rock the Birks at first; this was definitely a trend that needed to grow on me before I was willing to give it a go. But there’s something fresh I loved about the bright white Arizonas, and when paired with super lived-in destroyed boyfriends and a white tank– well, that was a laid-back combo I was down to try.

To give the outfit a little shine, I mixed metals and wore the much-loved arrowstack necklace and a bangle + watch combo. Comfortable, on-trend, and maybe a little granola. All good.

  15. It is so crazy to me how much 90s style is back now! I was obsessed with my birks back in the day (but I had those crazy loafers… not the sandals haha). You weren’t “cool” if you didn’t own them. Love your white ones here! Are you going to the GBS event at kate Spade next week??

  23. I. JUST. CAN’T. I know most people are loving them, but I just can’t do this one. Too many high school flashbacks (to be honest, I hated them then too but EVERYONE wore them so I did too). But of course you look amazing in them because you look amazing in everything. And I don’t mind the white as much. Maybe because they are a little different!

  33. i’m still on the fence about birks being back, and maybe it is because my dad wears them all the time, like he has never stopped wearing them so do i want to wear the same sandals as my dad, not sure

  36. i have been loving the birks this year! i fell for those white ones but never pulled the trigger, i love the bright contrast they add.

    also, loving that you used “granola” here. when i first used that around matt he was so confused about what it meant which i thought was so weird because we used it all the time at home. must be a cali thing we have going on 😉

  43. Yes to birks!! Although I have the same white ones as you, and I find them the most difficult to wear. But I’ve been seeing em a lot with bf jeans. like you’re wearing, so I maybe have to join the club 🙂
