Dressing Up Cutoff Denim. | Ashley from Le Stylo Rouge

Wedges with a Breezy Cream Ruffled Blouse.

Lightweight ruffles with neutral leather wedges.

As you can tell, I’m into this whole longer-sleeved blouse + denim cutoff aesthetic. This round it’s a super breezy ruffled blouse and those same Just USA shorts with a pair of much-loved leather wedges. (Mine are a few years old, but score similar versions here and here.) I love the dainty factor of the blouse and how it plays so well against the rough + more casual cutoff. These leather wedges are the perfect summer shoe; they lengthen the leg without being too terribly high. I’m all about the balance of cute and comfortable in a shoe.

This blouse will remix nicely with skinny trousers for the office, or with a cute denim skirt (the 90’s are back in full force, in case you’ve been asleep). And these wedges are such a summer staple in my closet; I wear ’em constantly May through September.

Hope you guys have a happy weekend ahead! It’s been a look week– I’m working to adjust to post-Greece life and trying to dig out of my inbox. Tell me again why I didn’t just buy a fishing boat and move to the Aegean…? I’ll be back next week with some outfits shot on vacation. Let the Greek nostalgia begin!

  1. Last year at the end of summer I invested in a couple of pairs of really cute wedges for this summer (I love a good summer wedge) and, of course, I can’t wear them now with the pregnancy and the swollen feet, etc. So I am totally living vicariously through you as you strut around in wedges!

    1. Ahhh, you’ll have to save those wedges for next summer! In the meantime, I shall wear ’em in your honor! πŸ™‚

  2. I really love this light and airy top! Sometimes it is nice to have some long sleeved tops in the summer and you can pair them with a cute pair of shorts and not be as cold inside with a/c! My legs don’t get as cold as my arms! Adorable look!!

    1. Lightweight longer-sleeved stuff is great to keep around for cooler summer days- or def days when the AC is cranked! πŸ™‚

  3. I’ve always been a huge fan of short shorts and wedges. It’s sexy and stylish and you pull if off so well. I also love this blouse but it’s not my style, high neck blouses make me look bigger since I’m super top heavy but it looks great on you.
