I don’t know about you guys, but winter really starts to drag for me this time of year. Constant winter wind and impending ice/snow storms has me dreaming of green grass, blooming trees, and above-freezing weather.

What perks me up? Well, alcohol. Kidding. But peppering in a few new goodies here and there definitely helps brighten up those dreary winter days. I’ve been browsing the UncommonGoods site recently, an online marketplace showcasing the interesting + unique works of both emerging and veteran designers. I have discovered quite a few pieces for my wish list– like this functional + modern wine flight set and this dainty rough cut ruby ring. I love that UncommonGoods not only provides a spotlight for smaller artists, but they work hard to be a sustainable company with a small environmental footprint (for example, their packaging is environmentally friendly and they do not carry items that involve hurting animals; ie, no fur, feathers, leather, or pearls).

How are you guys spending Valentine’s? I’m seeing Deadpool with the boyfriend and The Walking Dead is back on Sunday– double action bonus. I know that doesn’t sound like the most traditionally romantic V-Day, but I’m more than excited about these activities.

  16. I have not heard of this site, they have some really neat things!
    I think we are doing the same exact thing for Valentine’s Day! My husband wants to watch Deadpool, we’ll probably go Friday and stay in and watch TWD! So excited for the new season!

  17. Alcohol always cheers me up. I feel I need that pineapple in my life so I can drink away my sadness that it is winter and pretend I am somewhere tropical. I really want to see Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds is too cute!!! Although I see no movie dates in my immediate future. Or any Valentine’s plans…

  24. Interesting! Looking into UncommonGoods now. My boyfriend and I are simply going to run some errands and enjoy a really good dinner (hopefully I still can get reservations; haven’t looked into it yet!!)
