How do you feel about jean jackets? I rocked ’em all the time in elementary school, but then they fell off my fashion radar for a few years. Now I have one I consistently work into outfits all year long to pull in a casual, all-American vibe. One of my favorite ways to wear this piece is to the office.
I took a denim jacket in a classic color + cut and paired it with a more formal pair of tweed trousers and patent leather pumps. A snow leopard scarf looped around the neck adds in a fun print (and some warmth).
The denim jacket brought a relaxed element to an otherwise pretty standard office outfit, and a different feel than had I thrown on a blazer or leather jacket. Jacket options are good options.
It’s been a run-and-gun week. Lots of boxes to check in order to work through my to-do list. Watching (and consequently tearing up over) the Olympics has dominated my television schedule, so I’m scrambling to catch up this weekend so I can stop dodging spoilers. Also hoping the temperatures here in Kansas City get warm enough (and stay there!) to melt some of this incessant snow. Spring countdown: 33 days.
Happy to announce the winners of the beauty giveaway are Carrie from Missouri (our free facial winner) and Nikki from Tennessee (proud new owner of the yummy sugar scrub). Congrats, ladies!
There’s still time to enter the $1000 PayPal cash giveaway– hurry, hurry, the content closes tonight at midnight!

I love jean jackets! I pair them over maxi dresses and colored pants or black pants.

Love that scarf! What a great print.
I always forget about jean jackets- although I totally have one in my closet. This office look is so cute! I want to try it out now. 🙂
Go for it! Thanks for stopping by, Kate!
You look so pretty, Ashley!
Gorgeous!
I love jean jackets, but I always forget to wear them with my office clothes. This is a great look! Still office appropriate, but casual too.
I love looks like this- all-american is a great way to describe it! Just classic and timeless. 🙂

Happy Thursday, Ash!
I LOVE those pants! The tweed is super cool and the cut is amazing! You look awesome, Ashley!
And LOL, the Olympics have totally been making me cry, too! 🙂
Oh, I loved jean jackets in elementary school too and then, like with you, they fell off my radar! I’ve been meaning to buy one for two or three years now… I should actually make that happen! You look awesome! I love all your unique, work appropriate outfits!

You should most def get yourself a new version- I find I can work a jean jacket in anywhere I would a blazer/leather jacket. 🙂
This is adorable, and totally doable for most girls with what’s in their current closets. I love it when you cover attainable looks!
Cool scarf!
Hope you have a great weekend!

I love this look! Really easy to recreate but looks so sharp. 🙂
And after reading your post, I don’t feel so bad about crying like a baby over the Olympics! Haha!
Right?! I feel like a big ol’ baby! Thanks for stopping by, Cassie!
Great outfit, I adore these pants! Unfortunately Express pants/trousers never seem to work for me. Yesterday someone made the comment about how the Winter Olympics in Russia are having MUCH nicer weather than we are haha.
Awesome outfit! I agree, a jean jacket is a great staple piece!
I think denim jackets are such a great staple item! This is one old trend I was happy to see come back. Now I need one though! Love your mix of casual and dressier pieces here 🙂
You look beautiful as always, Ashley! I really like that you added a scarf to this look- it adds a cool feel to it!
I LOVE these pants, you look stunning! What a perfect work outfit!
I feel like denim jackets come in and out of style every season! LOVE how you made yours wearable for work – this is totally something I would wear to the office! You look absolutely fabulous!
Thanks, Deborah! 🙂 Have a great weekend!
Classic style!
Awesome office look, Ash! Great pants- tweed is pretty hot right now. And I’m loving the jacket- I always forget to wear it in the winter, though. I usually pair it with summer dresses. Great way to wear. 🙂
i love how you styled this to be work appropriate! I have always seen them styled for more casual looks so this is great!

Oh I love jean jackets and especially when they are fitted like the one you are wearing, and love the scarf you paired it with. I had a cute one in dark denim but lost it during the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island. It was so crowded I did not feel it slip off my shoulders. Now I have an acid washed one.

Great look! I would wear this out, too. Would be a good safe-but-cute look to wear with my in-laws! Haha!
Haha, absolutely Jaime! 😀
Looking gorgeous!
I always forget about jean jackets, LOL. This looks awesome, I need to try it.
😀
This scarf is gorgeous! And I love classic pointed toe pumps like the ones you’re wearing. AWESOME!
Oh, I love this pairing of dress pants with a denim jacket! I have one but also have a hard time wearing it much for the same reasons as you. Maybe I overdid it in my younger years, but I do still really like the look when it’s done right like this!

I loved my denim jacket the last year of high school/beginning of college (which was probably when you were in elementary, ha) and then it too, fell off my radar. Now I like them again, though I have flashbacks of bad fashion when I wear mine from time to time 😉 Love the outfit, those pants are fab!
Hahaha, I doubt we’re that far apart in age, doll! 🙂 And I totally feel you- the denim jacket fell out of rotation for me, too. Now it’s back and I couldn’t be happier. 🙂
Great outfit as usual, Ashley!
Hope you have a brilliant weekend!
