Short Suited + The Vanity: Fudge Urban Sea Salt Spray.

Shorts + pumps are sorta my thing. And I rarely turn down a good blazer, especially when they come with the sleeves pre-scrunched. (I’m like the Kansas City girl version of Miami Vice.)

Separates are a trend I’ve been working into my wardrobe lately, as is orange in all its forms– so imagine my delight when I came across this coral shorts suit from Victoria’s Secret.

It’s like the most Ashley White outfit ever.

I went with a simple black tank (this Yummie tank from Heather Thomson’s line is lightweight and keeps you all nice and cinched in), a statement necklace, and a pair of simple patent leather slingbacks.

Like other separates, these pieces work just as well broken up as they do together. I actually wore just the shorts, pumps, and a tank out with the girls for a tequila-sponsored night on the town, and have worked the jacket at the office with skinny trousers and ballet flats. Love it when an outfit comes together, several times over.

The Vanity: Fudge Urban Sea Salt Spray.

I have thick + naturally wavy hair, so I can layer in quite a few products post-wash and not weigh my hair down. When I’m going for the beach vibe, I apply a cream that encourages waves, another product or two that controls frizz, and then follow up with a salt spray to get that wavy + beachy texture.

fudge urban sea salt sprayI’m on the forever hunt for the perfect salt spray– a product I can spritz through damp hair and wind up with California waves minus the crunch. Give me something lightweight that packs a punch, and preferably something that doesn’t cost $50 an ounce.

What I’ve been using + loving lately is Fudge Urban’s Sea Salt Spray. Found this punchy little bottle at Target for $10.99– a decent price point if the product works.

I’ve been using it all summer with great results– through the Kansas City heat and humidity, through muggy rainstorms, and through afternoons with zero breeze and air you could cut with a knife. My hair is wavy and deconstructed without getting too terribly big and/or frizzy. Game on.

You can find Fudge Urban’s Sea Salt Spray in your local target, or shop online and pick up a bottle.
