Spring Outfit Idea: Mustard Blouse + White Booties. | Ashley from LSR

Mustard Blouse + White Booties.

A super affordable spring look.

The color mustard hasn’t historically been my jam. But I feel in love when I test drove the color last fall (here and here). Now springs lines are incorporating mustard in pieces like floaty tops and dresses, which feels really cool and fresh for a traditionally fall color. I picked up this mustard blouse at Forever21 (limited sizes still available, but this tank is super similar and ridiculously affordable) and paired it with a cool pair of button-fly high-waisted jeans from H&M (a $20 score) and white booties.

What I love about this outfit: the entire look (top, jeans, booties, and necklace set) retail for just $70. Come through, Forever21 and H&M. (The sunnies are Ray-Ban, so they retail higher, but these dupes are a great under $15 grab.) You can absolutely find pieces to freshen up your closet for a new season without breaking the bank.

Forever21 blouse (similar here and here, also love this printed cropped version) and booties (almost exact here and love these with the stacked heel) // H&M jeans (just $20!) and necklaces (just $8!)  // Smartwatch c/o Garmin // Ray-Ban sunglasses (super similar for under $15)

I’m looking forward to remixing this mustard blouse with denim shorts and sandals once summer hits, or even worn over the top of a slip dress as part of a warm-weather layered look. The little knot and cropped nature is really boho, but the boxy cut makes it easy to wear and layer with other pieces.

  1. Mustard looks so good on you! I like it on other people, just not on me. And I love the idea of layering it over a slip dress!

    1. Maybe you could rock a mustard shoe? Or a bag? Get in on the trend without wearing it as a clothing item…? But yes- cannot wait to wear this with a slip dress!

    1. I saw the price tag and was like ADD TO F’IN CART! Haha. And the white booties really add a punch, right? Thanks, sis!

  2. How adorable are you???? LOVE this cute look! I’ve been thinking about some white booties and this may have pushed me into the “goin’ to get them” category:)

    1. Thanks, gf! And you should totally snag yourself a pair of white booties- they are really fun to wear! I always get a lot of compliments on ’em!

  3. Hearting the white booties, I have a similar pair with a block heel which I love. Great outfit. Please come join my #chicandstylish #linkup every Thursday Hun. Jacqui Mummabstylish

  4. I totally agree with you and mustard was never my jam until this past fall/winter and while you’ll never catch me eating it😝, I’ve added quite a few pieces to my closet and just love them. Getting an entire on trend outfit for $70 should get you some kind of award. LOL Super cute! You’re also right, I think you’ll get a lot of wear out of the cute tie top. Thanks for joining Fabulous Friday! XO

  5. That color looks gorgeous on you! I’m happy to see it is officially warm enough in KC to shoot in short sleeves. The weather has been nicer in KC than in LA lately, I’m so ready to move!

  6. That is such a cute blouse! I like it with the denim, blue and yellow is a combination I love to wear 🙂

Hope you are having a great weekend! 🙂 Yesterday was a productive day for me and today we went out to a festival with the kids.
