I was a little hesitant to try the midi skirt at firstâ I’m only 5’5, which means this girl accepts sometimes she’s not tall enough to pull off every trend.
But you never know until you try, so I found this ASOS skirt and pulled the trigger. Great weightâ it has a bit of heft to it, which will keep the skirt from blowing up over my head on blustery Kansas City afternoons. It also has a lovely twirl-factor and pockets. Instant fan, right here. Trying it on allowed me to immediately determine I wasn’t a midi-skirt-and-flats kind of girl. Being 5’5 strikes again. Pumps it is!
Tucked a simple white v-neck into the skirt, cinched it with a mint-colored patent belt, and broke in my new bright coral Zara pumps.
Quite a ladylike outfit, no?

You can definitely pull the midi skirt look! I am a midget compare to you, but I still like wearing them, as long as I have huge heels to go with it haha. Love the pop of color with the heels and earrings, great choice.

Absolutely loveee this outfit! It looks adorable on you 🙂
Absolutely lovely! The entire outfit is beautiful on you. I am 5’4″ and always stayed away from longer skirts of all kinds because I feared that I was too short. You may have convinced me to think otherwise!
Thanks so much for sharing on Turn It Up Tuesday! We love having you! 🙂
I am about the same height, and have been hesitant to try midi-skirts as well. You have definitely conquered the look! And I adore your Zara pumps!! 🙂
Love the color of the pumps and the entire look is beautiful!!!

I’m also short and just bought a midi skirt and am hesitant to wear it… But omg, you look amazing!! This is such a chic and flirty look. Love the basic tee with the skirt and the pumps are amazing! Such a fantastic pop of color : )

I bought a cobalt blue midi skirt once and never wore it because at 5’9″ I thought it made me look stubby! You make it look so easy! So jealous of your style confidence. I’m not a fan of heels or sandals, so what else would you pair a midi skirt with for everyday wear in the warm weather?! xo
Hi Dianna! You’re tall enough (lucky girl!) that you could wear a midi skirt with flats. Try a ballet flat- you can go the simple classic route or a cool t-strap version. 🙂
If you feel like the flat cuts your leg off in a weird place, try wearing the skirt with a wedge. It doesn’t have to be a sandal wedge or anything too high, just something to give your leg a bit of length.
Happy hunting!
How did I miss this post?! This is so incredibly chic and cute! Love it all!
