Leopard Shirt + Loud Booties.

If I’m reincarnated as anything, it’ll be these loud booties.

Statement shoe alert! I found these multicolored snakeskin ankle boots at ASOS about a month back (they’re still in stock and under $80) and they immediately became a new favorite. Orange and teal snakeskin? Buckles and straps? A manageable heel that gives you some height? Three for three with these loud booties.

I wore them with high-waisted Madewell jeans, a leopard blouse, and my go-to leather jacket for an easy-but-punchy outfit. Yes, it’s loud. Yes, it’s mixing two major prints, which can seem daunting at first. But putting a wide swathe of denim between the blouse and boots made the mix very attainable. Black accents– sunnies, jacket, belt– helped hold the look together.

I’m wearing all the snakeskin and leopard lately (exhibits A, B, C) but these prints are too fun to pass up. Especially these loud booties– how in the world could I let these snakeskin dreamboats get away? They’re a great choice with denim, but I’m excited to see how they’ll fare with a summer dress. I’m thinking something white + eyelet, very girly, maybe even a little flouncy, with these booties. Boom! Serious juxtaposition between feminine and tough.

Headed right into the weekend with the KC Media Mixer Lemons 2 Lemonade conference on Saturday. I’m the keynote speaker for the event, so I’ll be practicing my talk over and over until it’s game time. So nervous, but also beyond excited to connect with so many amazing hard-hitting boss babes here in the city. If you follow me on Insta, I’ll be giving some behind the scenes snaps of the event. It’s going to be a blast!

    1. I’m not sure if there will be a full recording- but I’m going to find a way to upload my stories! Thanks so much, Jodie!

  3. I have the exact same leopard blouse and I’m completely obsessed with it! Also love how your paired two bold prints, looks great!

  4. These booties display the boldness and sparkle of your personality. So wonderful. And your mention of juxtaposing “feminine and tough” reveals the inner core of strength I so admire in you. Truth be told, I wanna be like you when I grow up. 🙂

Good luck at the conference. You’re a star!

  5. OMG, Ashely! These boots! The level of loud is right up my alley! I am going to check out availability of these now. They are freaking fabulous. And I love them paired with the leopard top. I recently paired a leopard coat with white and gray snakeskin booties. But now I need colorful snakeskin ones. I used to have a pair of bright red and black snakeskin booties that were so fantastic, but I got rid of them way back when I just had babies and decided I would never wear heels again. My how things have changed and I mourn the loss of that old shoe collection!

  6. These shoes are speechless! 🙂 I actually love shoes, both – classical and “safe” and also statement! But these type of shoes are so good when you’re wearing something neutral or plain, they give this accent! Also loved your shirt, I have a very similar one! 🙂

    Happy Easter <3
