Going Neon in a Plaid Suit for KCFW.

A plaid suit plus neon is the opposite of incognito.

Kansas City Fashion Week is a time to bring it, style-wise. The crazier, the better because this crowd understands fashion risks. This year my theme was neon; I sported some neon accents as part of my outfit for the kickoff party and continued the trend for the finale runway shows. I started with a bold plaid suit from ASOS because I loved the Clueless-esque vibe. (So Dionne, right?)

This cropped neon t-shirt was a fun addition and it gave me a nice tie-in for these totally insane, stupid-in-the-best-way neon snakeskin color block boots. Ohhh-kayyyy, now these boots are a look, and I knew they were perfect for a fashion week debut. (They’re sold out in the neon green, but this pair is just as cool.)

I added a little 90s choker action (remember these stretchy gems?) and a pair of dark sunnies to round things out. (These sunglasses are under $100 and have been on repeat lately.) This outfit didn’t need much accessorizing, believe it or not.

KCFW is always such a blast and this season was no exception. A few of my pals got together for a photoshoot downtown followed by some sushi (and plenty of plum wine) before heading over to the Grand Hall for the shows,
