Putting on my garden party clothes to kick off KCFW.

Sorry for the super clickbait-y title; no, I am not pregnant. (I’m not even that hospitable to fully-formed life, much less developing life, ya know?) But when I scored this Scotch & Soda plaid tweed set, all I could think was how delightfully boy-or-girl reveal it was in the best way. A gender reveal outfit! Okay, let’s do it. (You guys know I like to keep it a bit weird at KCFW.)

I decided to wear it to the Kansas City Fashion Week kickoff party because the fashion set would totally understand a loud plaid. I further underscored the gender reveal fun by wearing it with pink pumps (still available here) and pulling this cobalt blue Marc Jacobs Stam out of my bag archives.

The kickoff was at this swank house up in Mission Hills and the weather that day couldn’t have been more perfect for a garden party. The sun was shining and the mimosas were flowing, people. I got to hang with a few of my blogger pals, catching up before KCFW really got underway with runway shows and presentations.

  9. Loving the title of this post haha. I am also not all that hospitable to fully formed life, so I totally get you there. This was such a fun garden party look! Everyone I know who went wore floral dresses…I love that this is edgy and really stands out!
