Sometimes it’s nice to start with a really basic outfit, something really stripped down and simple, and leave all the statement-making to the accessories.
For a lunch date with Alissa from The Adored Life, I wanted the base of the look to be simple + breezy, with some fun accessories to add a little oomph. A simple white boyfriend button-up and a pair of super skinny denim did the trick. I layered on a few dainty necklaces, a bright belt, and a watch + bangle combo. This also allowed me to work in some spring color. Finally, one of my most-beloved recent purchases: these calf-hair leopard Sam Edelman slip-on sneakers. The slip-on is experiencing a bit of a style resurgence, and I’m loving the 90s feel of the sneaker coupled with the fun print.
Happy almost-weekend!

I love this classic look on you, Ashley! You can never go wrong with jeans and a white button down! PS- you look really tan and I’m jealous 🙂
Gorg!
Yeah… my foot was jealous of yours so it kept on trying to touch it. I swear. It’s gross but also true. Anyway, I adore you and am so glad we met up!
We have QUITE the fun month ahead, don’t we? 🙂
This outfit is fantastic! Those jeans look insanely flattering on you, like wow. And how fun are those shoes?? Same Edelman makes my favorite Felicia flats so I’m sure those slips on are as comfy as they are cute!

Super cute!
I really like simple outfits with fun jewelry or shoes- like this! Awesome look!
I always forget about my basic white button-down. But I love how you’ve styled this for the weekend- not the office. So cool!
I can forget about it, too- but the boyfriend cut makes it perfect for slouchy sorta weekend-y outfits. 🙂
In love with this! Perfect weekend outfit. I would wear this everywhere- to brunch, to a shopping date, to drinks on a patio- when it finally warms up. 🙂 You do such a great job of giving me styling ideas! 😀
You look amazing even in the simplest outfits 🙂 Love your jewelry!

Amazing look…. I want your slip on…. very cool!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kisses girl!!!
How fun that you guys got together for lunch! Love your outfit, too. Totally agree that sometimes simple is better! I love the slip on sneaker trend. I want to find some cheaper ones since I’m not sure how often I’d wear them since they wouldn’t be appropriate for work!
http://www.amemoryofus.blogspot.com
I thought I wouldn’t wear them that often, but I think once KC finally thaws out, I’ll get plenty of use for them on weekends. 🙂 And are you going to any KCFW and/or KCBB stuff? We should all meet up! 🙂
