What’s old is new again, or so they say. From flares to fringe, the 70s are everywhere. I teamed up with the amazing staff at Standard Style to create a killer 70s-inspired look as part of the Fashion for a Cause festivities. From pleated maxi dresses to leather jackets, we tried on a bit of everything, finally landing on this breezy look featuring a ruffled tank, felt hat, and the fringed + studded Rebecca Minkoff Rylan tote.
I’m not quite sure which piece I’m more in love with: the silk tank or the bag. The tank is floaty and moved like a dream; I loved the way the ruffle dipped lower in the back. Total boho staple piece. The bag is working my current favorite trend (fringe!) and incorporating studs and quilting without going overboard. This was my first time trying on a pair of Baldwin denim– the fit is superb. Love a good hat; this wide-brim fedora is super 70s. Yes, indeed. Sky-high platform sandals and a few dainty gold necklaces were all I needed to round out this festival-perfect ensemble.

Fashion for a Cause is an annual fashion show in Kansas City supporting women’s health through the Truman Medical Center. The event is in its tenth year and has helped countless women in the metro area. It all goes down this Friday, April 17th at the Grand Ballroom in KC, hosted by Mario Lopez (insert Saved By the Bell reference, because duh). I’m so excited to be attending the show and have loved the opportunity to work with local boutiques to create looks in anticipation of the event.
Psst, are you in the KC area and looking for a good time for a great cause? Get your tickets here.
Thanks to Joni + her staff for hooking a sister up with some majorly sick pieces. So much fun working with them! I can’t wait to see what the Standard Style team sends down the runway on Friday!

This look is perfection… from the top of the hat (love it) to the bottom of your platforms! It all works wonderfully together, the silky top is to die for, just the right amount of flare in the jeans and don’t get me started on the handbag! Awesome!
