Faded Neutrals + Suede Boots.

As much fun as prints can be, don’t knock a neutral. Especially when they’ve got that lived-in feel and are super soft + a bit faded. Makes for a solid casual outfit and leaves plenty of room to do your talking with accessories. For example, these pointed toe suede boots and a tortoiseshell pendant I’m all about lately are in the spotlight when paired with neutral basics. These boots checking all the right boxes to become a forever fave: they’re a little aggressive, have a nice heel, and are pretty weird.

I snagged this work shirt at Zara over the summer, but it’s still in the rotation. It wears nicely here with olive green trouser leggings (I think people are calling these “treggings” now; I don’t know how to feel about this), and will be good half-tucked into a pair of a denim cutoffs when spring + summer finally roll around.

  1. Yea, not sure how I feel about “treggings.” I feel weird saying jeggings most of the time. Neutrals are the best and having something you can wear with anything is the best sort of addition to any closet! I’m digging the pointed toe on those booties. Not seen a whole lot of pointed booties, they are precious.

  2. We’re kind of cracking up over that treggings situation but really love this look no matter what the pants are called (lol). Neutrals really are the best way to let a statement piece show and we’re in love with your necklace!!

  3. I’m ready for spring as well and am thrilled to see it getting warmer in parts of the US, even if it isn’t our area. It’s currently dumping snow on us now but all that will change soon enough! I love these “treggings” – they seem like they would keep their shape much better than a typical khaki material.

  4. I think I’ll stick to ‘leggings’ thank you very much. Just too many different terms to call the same thing these days and it’s just confusing. Blah!

You wear those boots really well, Ashley. It’s not easy to plc it off but you look very chic with it.
