Remixing a dress as a jacket with lived-in denim.
The last time you saw this suede number, I was wearing it in its intended form: as a dress. (I also had massively long ombré brunette hair, ha!) Well since Kansas City is a long ways off from being warm enough for bare legs, I decided to remix this dress as a jacket. Over a white bodysuit and girlfriend jeans, this look has a sort of Montana chic feel to it, right?
What are girlfriend jeans, you ask? Think boyfriend jeans (i.e., slouchy) with a bit more of a feminine fit. If you have avoided a boyfriend jean because you worry about losing your shape, a pair of girlfriend jeans may be the cut for you. I’m wearing an older version of these jeans here, but I also love these and these.
I have been wearing these neutral mules for ages, and I found ’em in stock here and here. Such a good buy, guys. I wear these with dresses + shorts in the summer and jeans all year long.

Shop the look:
Thankfully, the weather decided to cooperate when we shot this look; it was only in the 40s– which felt like straight up August after that insane Polar Vortex the week prior. Now that it’s February, we can expect some warmer days sprinkled in amongst the freezing stretches. A nice little reprieve after what has felt like a really frigid Midwest winter. I honestly won’t be satisfied until we’re consistently in the 70s, which is months away.
My weekend is pretty packed: a fun night downtown with friends tomorrow night, and then hitting up Kindred on Saturday morning for their Galentine’s shopping event. Mimosas and 20% off?! That 100% sounds like something you should come to if you live in the KC area. I hope to see you there! You’ll know it’s me because I’ll have a little champagne buzz and an armful of really cute clothes. 😉

This is a cute little remix and I love the neutral colour. I used to wear a shirt dress as a gilet and duster because it was sleeveless. Love convertible styles. Have a great week. x/Madison
I never would have guessed you were repurposing a dress as a jacket – it looks perfect! Even if warmer weather is still some time away, you are rocking the cold weather looks!
Chic on the Cheap

Cool idea to wear a dress like a sweater. I have an insane amount of dresses because I constantly wear them in warm months, so I think I might need to give this idea a try!
Las fotos son estupendas! Espero tu opinión en mi último post! Saludos! ☃️☃️☃️
This is such a cute combo dear! Loving the neutrals.
