Styling an oversized button-up for high summer.
A classic white button-up shirt– do you have one? If so, do you only wear it at the office? Let me present another way to style it: super casual and as part of a summer outfit. I took this (really affordable) white button-up shirt, sized up to maximize the slouchiness, and tucked half of it into these One Teaspoon shorts I’ve been wearing all summer long. Then I popped the collar (in a fabulous-grandma-on-holiday way, not in an early-2000s-frat-boy way), unbuttoned a few (okay, most) of the top buttons, and cuffed the sleeves.
The finishing touch? Those neon sandals you saw back in early April for KCFW. I love the way they punch up this look (although it works with flats/sneakers, too, don’t you worry). A neon statement bracelet brought in another hint of neon to round things out.

I love the idea of taking a classic piece like a white button-up and spinning it for a casual ensemble. A great way to shake up your wardrobe + stretch your closet, too. And wearing it a bit oversized means you stay cooler than if the shirt was fitted. I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want to worry about is sweating through a tight white shirt. No thanks. Want to test drive this look? Borrow your significant other’s/dad’s if you don’t have your own and your fave pair of cutoffs.

What a fabulous summertime look, Ashley. Also love the pop of color in your heels. They really pull the look together!
