A sequined bodysuit to write home about.

Ahh, Kansas City Fashion Week– aka my personal style Halloween. I like to break out my loudest + craziest outfits for KCFW, because the event is such a creative mashing of all the people in the city who get it. Plus, you guys know I can’t resist the option to look a little ridiculous. For the Friday night runway shows, I scored this amazing sequined bodysuit from Jaded London and build the rest of the outfit around it. Come on, super long sequined fringe in pink, gold, and silver? That screams Dance Moms in the best damn way. A basic pair of Gap skinnies (these look amazing + are so comfy) and blush pink mule sandals were obvious next choices.

The bodysuit has a killer halter neck, which I’m always game for. But the look needed a jacket: a) because I’m Ashley White, and b) because KC was stuck in a bit of a chilly rut during fashion week and going jacket-less would’ve been risky. I considered going with one of my trusty leather motos before stumbling across this amazing blush bomber jacket from Misstress Rocks. Um, do you see that embroidery? Bo$$ Lady, excuse me? It’s like old-school Ke$ha, Grease’s Pink Ladies, and athleisure mated and had a jacket baby. I bought it immediately knowing it would totally work with the pink sequins and blush mules. And hello, a KCFW look is born.

I am seriously so in love with this look, but also excited to break these pieces apart and see how I can wear ’em again. I’m thinking the sequined bodysuit with be cute with denim cutoffs and an oversized boyfriend blazer for a summer night on the town, and that Boss Lady bomber jacket would be too fun over white skinny jeans and a basic t-shirt. I wonder if I could get away with wearing it to the office…

  24. I always love seeing your fashion week looks. I was so sad I didn’t get to go to NYC this year because I feel like it is an excuse to buy and wear all the crazy fashion I don’t in everyday life. We all need that sometimes, right?! I NEED those mules. So sad they are gone. That bomber jacket is, well, bomb. And I love the bodysuit. So good lady.
