It doesn’t matter how many jackets are stuffed into my closet, I’m always on the hunt for a new one. It’s become a collection; Jacket Watch never stops. Pro tip? Don’t limit yourself to the women’s side of the store. I found this faux navy leather motorcycle jacket in the men’s section at Express. A men’s leather jacket means: a) guaranteed slouch, as men’s clothing is cut wider through the shoulders + sleeves, and b) a reduction in the likelihood you’re going to show up in the same thing as some other girl at the party/bar/game/office.

I kept the color palette dark and the pieces simple: a fitted black top (off-the-shoulder, not that you can tell because it was bloody freezing), ankle-length skinny jeans, and a pair of classic black suede pumps to add in a feminine element.

The lesson? Broaden those style horizons. This men’s leather jacket is just one successful example– I scan the boys’ side of the store for blazers and sweaters, as well. Pieces like these can all easily translate into a woman’s wardrobe and you get bonus points for being a bit original.

  32. Omg, another piece from Express? They should be paying you for all the good marketing & promotions you do for them. I have to say, the pieces you pick are great. I’ve never been a fan of that store because I always felt like it was poor quality. However the pieces you’ve showcased in the last few post look pretty darn good.
    This jacket is too cute and I love how you layered it with a hoodie to give it a hipster vibe. Great styling woman!

  39. That jacket suits you well. I’d borrow items from my husband’s closet, especially since he’s a better dresser than me. However, he’d probably freak out because he’s very delicate with everything! LOL!

  40. Very nice jacket and matched up nicely with the jeans and the black high heels. Great look for Late Winter, Early Spring. I wish I could steal boyfriends jackets once in a while but his jackets are too big for me.
