Blush Pink Polka Dot Dress.

A new blush pink polka dot dress to send off summer.

How was your Labor Day weekend? The unofficial end of the summer season, but don’t worry, summer fashion fans. I’m not really sending off summer– at least not yet. Kansas City will inevitably be in the 80s and 90s until at least the end of September, so I’ll still be rocking summer pieces for another month or so. This blush pink polka dot dress was an early summer purchase I never got around to wearing– does this happen to everyone, or is this just an Ashley is a Clothes-hoarder issue? (Find similar versions of this pink number here and here.)

As is the case with many a wrap dress, this one has a super low neckline. This can make wearing it a bit tough unless you tape yourself into the dress (which I am not down for in the August humidity, thanks very much). I layered a bralette underneath; the colors matched close enough that it almost looked like it was part of the dress and no one saw my nipples.

Those versatile nude sandals from a few weeks ago and some shiny gold pieces finished the look. My exact necklace is currently sold out, but you can get the same vibe with this one or this one. And these exact bracelets are available here and here; such cool pieces to add to your accessory repertoire.

Is it already fall where you live? I know my pals up north are starting to dig into sweaters as the evenings cool off, but my southern friends are still in full-blown Summer Mode. The Midwest gets a taste of both: summer weather will stick around until the end of September, but we’ll get a few cold fronts that’ll put our morning temps in the 60s here and there– just enough of a tease to make a PSL Starbuck’s run justifiable.

  1. What a perfect way to say goodbye to summers, huh! 🙂
You look absolutely perfect in this pretty pink polka dot dress, Ash. Have a great week ahead!
    xoxo

  2. What a cute dress! I love that you layered a bralette under, the color does match well and much better than the double tape for this heat! Blush is definitely your shade, you look beautiful! Thanks for sharing and have a great day, girl!

    1. Yes- I am particularly fond of that time when the mornings + evenings are cool, but it’s still pretty warm during the day! Thanks for swinging by, Maureen!

  3. I’m the same way! I’d buy a dress beginning of the summer and somehow its end of the summer and I haven’t worn it yet. Totally taking advantage of the warm weather to wear all my summer clothes! And this blush polka dot dress is so cute! The wrap style is so flattering!

  4. Cute dress. Bralette to the rescue. Nice shoes. Like your area, it’ll stay warm here for at least another month. I’m hoping to squeeze another camping trip in this month.

    1. Yes- book all those outdoor activities now before it gets too cold! I’m hoping that once fall DOES get here, it stays around and doesn’t bleed right into winter too fast!

    1. We’ll see how this Midwest fall progresses, but I’m hoping for a nice, long fall- I hate it when it gets too cold too fast!

  5. I love a good wrap dress & in that color-stunning! In Alabama, we usually have Summer until mid-October at the earliest, so I’m not getting in any rush for Fall fashion either!

  6. Such a cute little polka dot dress! It’s good you still have more warm weather and time to wear it! 🙂

I hope that you are having a nice start to your week so far! It’s a little colder here after a warm weekend but the rain is welcome 🙂

    1. The humidity is what’s really killing- you just walk outside and the air is HEAVY! I love summer so much- but fall will be a breath of fresh air. 🙂
