Turquoise Floral Blouse + Wide-leg Jeans.

This turquoise floral blouse works for both winter and spring.

Now is the time of year when I start itching to wear anything but a sweater. I’m over winter, over being totally bundled up, and ready to start experimenting with spring-y type prints and colors. This is a tall order in KC during February when the cold turns bitter and we’ll enjoy a week or two straight of single-digit temps. But wind chill factor be damned, I’m braving the elements in this turquoise floral blouse.

What I dig about this top is how the color palette straddles seasons; this blouse could be January (with a blazer or a jacket) or it could be May (with a pair of crisp white trousers). Get a similar look here and here with these blouses. I took advantage of a warm(er) winter day and shot this look, pairing the turquoise floral blouse with a pair of wide-leg jeans and slingback heels.

It’s pretty well known that I’m into wide-leg denim these days, and this pair doesn’t disappoint with its high waist and cropped hem. I like the classic wash, too. These heels look way more expensive than they are. They’re quite Gucci-esque for a fraction of the price. I’m into that big gold buckle and the height is perfect for adding some sophistication to a look without sacrificing comfort.

The jewelry here plays on all the turquoise happening in the blouse. A blue tourmaline ring and an ombré blue topaz ring add some little punches of color, while a (very! cheap!) pair of Amazon earrings brings in a little tortoiseshell.

For colder (read: normal) winter days, I’ll layer on a black boyfriend blazer over the top or even a neutral sweater vest. Both add a layer of warmth and keep things stylish.

Who doesn’t love a 90’s boy band? Or 90’s pop music in general? This week on the pod I’m sitting down with my best friend, Sabrina Osborn (who is also the talent behind the camera here at LSR), to take a deep dive into everything from Lou Perlman and how he created the Backstreet Boys, the BSB vs. NSYNC war, the epic daily event that was TRL, and lots of boy bands and pop groups along the way.  The episode is right here or on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Google.
