Who says you can’t wear sweaters in the summer?

Sweaters and shorts make for a really cool summer outfit– weather permitting, of course. This white fringe sweater was a late-last-summer score, and I’m just getting around to wearing it. It’s lightweight and has a definite summer boho vibe, which made it perfect with faded black denim shorts. I love the contrast between the longer sleeves and the cutoff shorts, plus the black and white color palette factor. To keep things casual, I slipped on my Taos canvas sneakers– the comfiest pair of casual sneakers I own. These bad boys are built for walking (I took ’em to Greece; they were perfect for our all-day explorations of islands like Mykonos and Santorini). The low profile and contrast stitching are cool elements.

How to style this fringe sweater? Well, denim skirts are back in a big way, and this sweater would look pretty cool paired with one. (So 90’s!) Skinny jeans are an obvious pairing, too, to make this sweater work for chilly casual offices or cool summer nights. A pair of heels or wedges would dress things up a bit, as would adding a statement earring and a bright lip. But I’m really loving the way this sweater plays super simple + casual.

  6. So cute! The design and fringe on the sweater are amazing. I’ve learned that many women wear sweaters in Summer because air-conditioning is often set too cold.

    1. Ugh, the AC is SO cold for me! In my office, restaurants, movie theaters. I love sweaters during the summer to stay warm!

  15. That sweater is adorable! Love the fringe. This would be perfect for those times when it is like 900 degrees outside, but then you go in a restaurant and it is like 50. And it looks to be light weight enough that you wouldn’t pass out on your way from the car to the restaurant!

  25. I’m a fan of wearing sneakers during the summer! They’re just so much more comfortable than sandals haha. Plus, it makes walking around much easier! That finger sweater was such a great score last year. I also love that you can probably wear it all year round!
