Tweed Jacket + Split Knees.

A tweed jacket is a pretty ladylike piece, conjuring images of Coco Chanel and ladies who lunch. And that’s all well + good, don’t get me wrong– but I like to mix feminine pieces with clothing that has a bit of edge. A pair of distressed split-knee jeans (from the Sincerely Jules line, btw) toughen up burgundy tweed jacket + off-the-shoulder top. Added in a touch more character with a pair of ombré patent leather pumps and an icy earring set from the Kendra Scott Mirror Mirror collection.

While we’re on the subject– KC friends, don’t forget about the event I’m hosting with Kendra Scott later this month. (Details below.)

Shop the look:

The tweed jacket easily works at the office with a pair of Hepburn-esque black trousers, but I’m digging the vibe when worn with destroyed denim. A little too cool for school, no?

November 24th: what are you up to? If you’re in the KC area, come shop with me at Kendra Scott on the Plaza!

  1. I need some split knee jeans, badly. The wine tweed jacket, your pumps and earrings are all gorgeous. So cool that you will be hosting a Kendra Scott event!

  3. Hi there!
Funny… I have a tweedy jacket like that and was staring at it in my closet over the weekend, trying to figure out how to wear it. I like that you paired lady like with edge. I have been wanting some red/black ombre heels ever since I fell in love with a very expensive Louboutin version, which I just couldn’t justify… but I’m happy to see yours here. I’m going to check them out for myself…

  4. I never thought of buying a tweed jacket because they’re too ladies who lunch for me– but you’ve changed my mind! The ripped jeans really modernize the whole look 🙂 Also, I had no idea that sincerely, jules made jeans now too

    1. Tweed is a little too frilly/girly-girly on its own for me, too- I thought the ripped jeans added a nice edge that made it more my style. 🙂

  5. Well congrats on hosting such an event! What an opportunity and I’m very happy for you! I too have always loved the classy look of tweed. It’s like the casual blazer. Downplayed and stunning at the same time. I top your off the shoulder top. Makes the entire look on the sweeter side, yet the jeans toughen it up. (:

    1. The event should be fun- the Kendra Scott team is a dream to collab with! And you can’t beat their baubles, for sure. 🙂

  6. Omg you look amazing. Can I just steal your entire outfit? I love every single piece. I’ve been seriously debating getting a tweed jacket and this one looks fabulous on you! Can we talk about those heels?!?! GORGEOUS. Also, insert comment here about how amazing your legs are, because, seriously. 😉 Love it all girl!

    1. I have this weird relationship with super feminine pieces- like I LOVE them on other people, but hesitate to wear ’em myself. Silly, eh? 🙂
