Suede Mini Skirt from Kindred + Stuart Weitzman.

Making a suede mini skirt work in early March.

I have been chomping at the bit to work in some of my spring pieces, but winter in Kansas City has been holding tight this year. How can you wear spring pieces like this suede mini skit without losing a limb to frostbite? Thigh high boots, bless! I pulled my Stuart Weitzman Highlands out for a test drive with this suede skirt (super affordable version of these boots right here; another way to style these boots, btw). I wanted to accent with tough pieces– enter my trusty moto jacket and aforementioned boots– while keeping the rest of the look feminine. A blush turtleneck was the perfect compliment to the suede mini skirt; clean and in step with the neutral palette.

I scored both the skirt and the turtleneck from new local fave, Kindred Shops. KC friends, have you visited Kindred? It’s located on the lower level at Oak Park Mall in the Nordstrom wing. So many pretty spring pieces available right now! I get lost in the racks and end up taking armfuls of clothing to my dressing room– narrowing down the pile is always a challenge because everything is so good!

Shop the look:

The lace-up detail on the suede mini skirt and the statement boots meant the accessories could be really simple (or, with the exception of my Ray-Bans, nonexistent). I love how the boots really pack a punch, but once you remove the jacket, the outfit becomes super soft.

  1. What an awesome skirt, love the color and the style. Kindred sounds like an excellent place to shop. I have boot similar to these from Zara and saw a pair in Macy’s on sale very similar to the color of your skirt but they only had 5.5 and I was DETERMINED to get my foot in which I did ( I am a 6.5) ooo but getting them off oh my caused a muscle spasm in my foot! Haha oh well couldn’t get them.
