First up, you may notice things look a little different around here. That would be because LSR had some work done (shoutout to the Bluehost team!) and I’ve made the switch to being self-hosted. The transition is mostly complete, but there may be a few bumps in the next week or so as we continue to tweak + perfect. Please excuse any minor hiccups!

Marching on…

There’s something about summer that makes me forget my denim collection. Maybe it’s the KC heat ‘n humidity, or maybe it’s that I missed my summer dresses + shorts so much over the winter I throw myself into a pretty strict legs-out policy come late May, but either way it’s been a minute since I’ve slipped on a pair of jeans.

I busted out these ripped knee jeans from ASOS and wore them with a striped crop top. (Speaking of separates, this crop was last featured in the fall as part of a set.) I love the boxy stripes of the crop; it’s got a 60s feel but the crop is perfect right now. I’m a fan of mixing cutesy and tough, so the busted knees and black ankle boots add the latter to the look.

The hair is thoroughly beachy, because hot tools and June Kansas City summers don’t gel. I wash, apply products that control frizz and encourage wave, then let my hair air dry. Much easier (and more bearable) than blow drying + flat ironing.

  20. Congrats on the blog update! We were so fortunate to have a friend help us with the design implementation when we started ours. Hopefully it’s a been a smooth transition and I can’t wait to see more of your beautiful style! I’m also having problems putting jeans on with how awful the winter was!

  32. Girl, the blog looks awesome! I love the little changes you’ve made, and a huge congrats for going self hosted! That’s a big deal- you’re in the big leagues now! 😀

    I really like this top- I swear I saw it at Nieman Marcus a while ago, but it’s not there anymore. I like how it’s cropped and a little sexy, but isn’t skin tight so you can get away with it not trying too hard. Love it!
