SPF Savvy

Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer. Seventy-two hours of BBQ-packed, sun-soaked fun.

Whether you’re in denim cutoffs and a tank or are bravely sporting a bathing suit, lather up with SPF. Nobody likes a leatherface. Or a leatherbody, while we’re on the subject.

SPF Savvy

You want to protect your skin from the sun. That doesn’t mean you won’t get any color (worry not, fair friends), but it does mean you’re doing your part to keep your cells from producing mutant cancer warriors set on shortening your lifespan.

My go-to choices are easy, no-fuss sunscreen (sprays and dry-touch formulas go a long way with me), as well as a powder mineral option for my face to chase away both a burn and some sweat-induced shine. Don’t forget the lip balm and your nails! (Bright red mani/pedi + UV rays = yellow nail beds… Gross.) Top it off with a floppy hat and some classic shades. See? Cool as a cucumber.

Happy weekend!

  1. Great post! Thanks for the reminder about spf for your lips and nails. I usually forget those steps! 🙂
Hope you had a great holiday!

  2. LOVE the sugar lip treatment! It is great for summer. I feel like I’m always licking my lips to keep them moisturized (bad– I know) but the Sugar treatment fixes that problem. Also, love putting it on before bed at night and waking up with super soft lips! For a little color, the Sugar Rose tinted lip treatment is great also (and still has SPF 15)!
