Snowflake Leggings + Utility Jacket.

Snowflakes, you say?

Indeed. We’re in November– November! I can’t believe it. I suppose it’s a good month to debut a pair of snowflake leggings.

The instinct is to style these printed sweater leggings cutesy, but I wanted to toughen them up. Combat boots, wherefore art thou combat boots? A simple white tee and a military-style utility jacket round out the look. Boom! Off to the salon for a trim + dip dye. (Darker ombré on deck for next week’s posts!)

Keep reading for some tips on wearing printed leggings (snowflake and the like).

Don’t shy away from a printed legging; they’re easier to wear than you may think. A few tips:

  • Pick a sweater-type material (over classic flat stretch) to minimize that shiny look when the legging stretches over your thighs, bum, etc.
  • Choose a darker color palette, which is easier to wear + most flattering.
  • If you’re not comfortable going full-stop thighs out, layer a longer tunic/sweater dress over the leggings to get more coverage.
  • Combat boots not your thing? No worries. Grab any ol’ ankle bootie in your closet, a classic ballet flat, or tall flat riding boots. Options are endless.

Happy almost-weekend!

  1. I would never think these leggings could work, but they’re soooo cute on you! I love your legging tips, too! I’ll keep them in mind when I pick up new pairs for this winter. 🙂

  2. Printed leggings are the best! I just treat them like printed skinny jeans!
Love yours- they’re so pretty and perfect for the winter! And you nailed it with the styling! Great jacket!

  3. YAY! You got printed leggings! Even though I wrote about them, I have yet to own a pair! 🙂 Definitely going to branch out cause you styled them SO well! Great look 🙂 Seriously, you a hottie!

  4. You styled these perfectly- so glad you didn’t do it “cutesy” there’s way too much of that happening when people wear printed leggings! LOL. 🙂

    1. Hi Cara, not a dumb question at all! If you’re worried about how the leggings look through the thigh, try sizing up. Sweater leggings don’t have to fit as snugly as a regular pair, as long as they still stay up. Also, maybe try pairing the leggings with a longer top? Think over-sized sweaters, tunics, or a dress. 🙂

  5. Really rocking this look, fantastic. Like many, I shy away from printed leggings due to lack of confidence but you seem to have it in spades! Good for you! I like the idea of trying it with a layered sweater. Stopping by from Vodka Infused Lemonade
