Ashley from LSR in a navy faux fur jacket and burgundy thigh high boots

Navy Faux Fur + Burgundy Thigh High Boots.

The one where I look like a high-fashion Big Bird.

A little fashion drama never hurt anyone, right? (Sprained ankles from too-high heels notwithstanding.) The next few months in KC are going to rinse + repeat when it comes to boots and coats, so I wanted to shake up my look with some statement pieces. To the rescue: navy faux fur coat and a pair of burgundy velvet thigh high boots. The look is luxe, but the price tag is not; both of these items are from H&M and Public Desire (respectively). This means you look killer and you save some coin.

Shop the look:

Don’t think you can’t dress this navy faux fur coat down– you absolutely can. Swap out the mega boots for a pair of slipper flats (or ballet flats, or brogues) and the lace top for an easy + breezy knit or a fave t-shirt. Mixing casual with dressier pieces is a fun way to mix up that wardrobe. Fur doesn’t always have to be super fancy, and this faux fur jacket is a great item to add to your winter mix.

Notice some newness around here in terms of look + feel? That’s right; LSR got a refresh over the weekend. New year, new look. I’m still tweaking a few bits, so bear with me as I work through these.

  1. Yes Yes Yes I love a thigh high boot, it’s so sexy and chic. My new boyfriend requested I wear my favorite pair on New Year’s Eve. A man after my heart 🙂 I just purchased some booties in this rich burgundy color, they add the perfect pop of color to my winter wardrobe. Those boots are ultra sexy and sassy

    1. Oh heyyyyyy, lady! Yep- blog is refreshed for the new year! 🙂 Thanks for swinging by- hope you’re well, too!

  2. The subtitle made me giggle, but you really are the furthest from looking like big bird. I love how you mixed the two different textures of suede and fur. I can see endless ways of styling those boots! What a great find. Xo,
