Transitioning Those Summer Pieces to Fall in a Mixed Print Halter Top. | Ashley from LSR

Mixed Print Halter + Lee Jeans.

This mixed print halter is a surprising transitional piece.

My key to transitioning from summer to fall while it’s still warm (ie, now through early October): take a quintessential summer piece and pair it with more fall-ready items. Let’s case study this with a mixed print halter top I scored during the Zara sale last month (it’s still available in blue and white here). On its own, the halter is very warm-weather. The easy outfit here is white cutoffs or a pair of cropped light-wash jeans. But when paired with full-length skinny denim in a wash just a shade deeper than classic blue and closed-toe pumpkin-colored pumps, this mixed print halter top seems a little more Labor Day than Fourth of July. Baby steps, people.

I think I can stretch this mixed print halter into fall by layering a leather jacket or a menswear-esque blazer over the top. Maybe add some tall boots, also? There are options, despite the print being very bright and summer-reminiscent. In the meantime, a simple pair of jeans and pumps add enough coverage to make it seem like a transitional piece.

  1. Clever approach to the changing seasons. This halter-top is too pretty to put away after Summer; now’s a good time for it. These heels are gorgeous, too. You pick such nice pieces. Can I hire you to be my stylist?! 🙂
