Mixed-print Outfit: Floral Silk Suit.

Let’s get dressed up in a floral silk suit and pretend we can go somewhere.

Are you ready to take a fashion risk this spring? Step out in this mixed-print floral silk suit. (Out = maybe to get the mail or sit on your deck, 6 feet from other humans you’re not sheltering in place with, of course.)

Talk about a print mix! The super wide-leg + high waist combo on the trouser is so fun. The florals here are a knock-out, too. From a distance, they seem like they might be the same prin but in different colors. Nope! They work, however, because they’re both dainty prints and share that golden + chartreuse element. Also, how Gucci is this outfit?!

To be honest, the rest of this outfit needs to be kept pretty simple to avoid becoming too overwhelming. I went with a simple pump in a pink color that can be found in the blouse and a matching lip– that’s it. While statement necklaces and earrings are in for spring, they just aren’t needed here. Let these silk florals shine!

Luckily, I was able to wear this outfit to work the Monday after it arrived in the post (back in early March, before all the COVID-19 madness). It was a hit! Then the virus started sweeping through the country and I had to store this suit in the back of my closet in favor of all the joggers + loungewear. (Did you catch last week’s post? Home office tour, shelter-in-place edition!)

I’m looking forward to wearing this floral silk suit again when the coronavirus quarantine is over (whenever that is– no fashion moment is worth breaking social distancing). The fabric is lightweight and breezy, which means it’ll work in warmer temps. I think it would be really fun to break apart– think about these trousers with a simple white crop top or the blouse tucked into a pair of high-waisted destroyed denim shorts.

Stay safe, everyone!
