New year, old tricks: take something super girly (a lace top in this case) and mix it with rough-and-tough pieces. The result is unexpected and interesting; always good when it comes to style.
I took a delicate ivory lace top and paired it with my much-loved slouchy utility jacket, simple black leggings, and flat over-the-knee boots. The color palette is a bit subdued; I wanted the focus here on the different textures and the contrast between the lace and the tougher jacket + boots. Added a few bracelets, one being studded wrap number (ooh, punk), and was set for a weekend playoff party.
Mixing ladylike + tough is a great way to get more mileage out of the stuff currently in your closet. File also under: fresh, provocative, not-your-average. Happy mixing!
