Dressing up for Christmas is something I’ve loved to do since I was a little girl.

The whole family would dress up and head to my grandparent’s house for dinner, carols around Grandmother’s organ, and then a present-unwrapping session around a big fire in the living room. My sister and I would inevitably change into comfy pj’s as the night wore on, but we always started out dressed to the Christmas nines.

Keeping in tradition, I’ll start this Christmas Eve in a tweed plaid skirt, over-sized tuxedo jacket, and my new favorite boots. The skirt’s tweed is super thick, giving the piece some structure. A simple black tank and pair of tights tie everything in and allow the skirt + blazer to stand out. Final touches: a few gold bracelets, a gorgeous crystal statement necklace, and a bright red lip. Merry Christmas!

  20. You look awesome as usual! I love dressing up for Christmas too. It’s a family tradition for us! We always go out to dinner at a really fancy restaurant, so dressing up just makes the most sense. 🙂

  33. That plaid skirt is amazing! I’m totally for comfort during the holidays but I do love to dress up pre-food coma 😉 Family traditions are so much fun during Christmas – I’m looking forward to seeing the whole family for our yearly bash in VA. Enjoy your day!
