A little print mixing in gingham shorts and a striped sandal.
Gingham feels like the official print of summer 2018, doesn’t it? You can find it checked on tops, dresses, shoes– you name it. These gingham shorts with a paper bag waist were a cute find at Kindred Shops at Oak Park Mall; I immediately pictured them print mixed with those striped sandals from earlier this season. (Bonus: the sandals are still available! Grab ’em here; true to size.) I kept the rest of the outfit super simple: a white crop top (such a steal) and those massive Free People sunnies rounded things out and let this black and white-based print mix shine.
I love dressing up a pair of shorts; it’s one of my classic outfitting tricks. Adding a shoe with a bit of a heel really helps lengthen those legs, which I’m always down for. These particular sandals are super comfortable, so I get that length + height without any of the pain.

Speaking of Kindred, did you guys see the romper from earlier this week? Holy floral mustard goodness, that’s a piece. I love that you can obviously wear it now as is, and then later with a cute cardigan and boots!
